Call for a Special issue of Entrepreneurship in Science Teaching

Overview and Purpose of the Special Issue

Entrepreneurship education has a long history. It has been studied especially in the field of economics and business, and in recent years, it has started to be studied in the field of educational sciences due to its increasing importance and current examples. With the prominence of studies carried out in science education in educational research, discipline-specific studies have also emerged. Particularly with the subjects such as sustainability and environmental education, it has been included in entrepreneurship education programs in science education and its importance has increased even more.

The prominence of entrepreneurship in science education is a suitable ground for the development of an entrepreneurial mindset in science education. Therefore, since the projects that will activate the entrepreneurial mindset are for daily life and the importance of daily life in science education is known, this relationship also played a role in bringing the two disciplines together and the number of the studies was increased correspondingly.

In this special issue, it is primarily aimed to publish various methods, techniques, models, and research topics in which science education and entrepreneurship are used/integrated, and to introduce studies in the field. In addition, studies in the field of entrepreneurship in education will be taken into account.

Specific topics may include but are not limited to, the impact of different crises on:

  • entrepreneurship education in K16
  • entrepreneur (science) teacher education
  • entrepreneur school
  • entrepreneurship & physics
  • entrepreneurship & chemistry
  • entrepreneurship & biology
  • entrepreneurship & earth science
  • entrepreneurship & epidemic
  • entrepreneurship & sustainable development
  • entrepreneurship & environmental education
  • entrepreneurship & green deal
  • entrepreneurship & STEM
  • other entrepreneurship studies integrated with science education (primary education, lower and upper secondary education, science teacher education etc.,)

Preparation and submission of study and review process

Studies submitted must not have been published, accepted for publication, or presently be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submissions, including supporting teaching materials, should be about max. 10,000 words in length. Copies should be sent to the editor’s e-mail addresses. You need to upload your study using the Journal of Turkish Science Education system if it is accepted as the final version. For guidelines, visit “Submission Guidelines for Journal of Turkish Science Education”. Submissions that do not comply with the journal publishing guidelines, or that are poorly written will be desk rejected. Studies will be subjected to a double-blind review.
